Villagegreen

Situated in the picturesque Scottish Highlands close to the Moray Firth is the ideallic Conservation village of Cawdor, home to the Historic Cawdor Castle. Just a short distance from the Castle is Villagegreen, offering a variety of gifts and homewares inspired by country living. We also like to promote local artists and crafts people. Come and enjoy table service in our small relaxed Coffee Shop situated to the rear of our Gift Shop. We offer freshly prepared soups and sandwiches aswell as delicious cakes made by our local French Pattissiere. We have a selection of teas and coffees from Brodies of Edinburgh alongside a variety of Organic beverages. So why not enjoy a winter walk on Cawdor Estate then warm up with a Brodie's Hot Chocolate. Or, if you prefer, in the summer months sit at one of our outdoor tables where you could relax over one of our light lunches and Capaldi's of Brora ice-cream in the Scottish sunshine.

Cawdor Gathering Update

Our objective for the Cawdor Gathering was to bring the whole Cawdor community together, and judging by the crowds of people that came along on Saturday we certainly acheived it. On the whole the weather was kind, which was a bonus -the sunshine was interrupted briefly by only the odd shower.

So a very big thank you to all who made the effort to take part. Thanks should also go to the many volunteers who gave up their valuable time, beforehand and on the day itself. We think all of your hard work paid off. The Charity stands and side shows looked great and were kept busy, as was the refreshment and BBQ tents. The main arena was also busy and host to a number of events all of which were well supported throughout the afternoon.
Local involvemnet included:

Catherine Rayner, Award Winning Illustrator

We are very happy in the shop. Catherine Rayner, award winning illustrator and children's author has started to supply us with her delightful cards. Catherine is based in Edinburgh and as you can see from her designs, she gains a lot of her inspiration from her pets and her love of animals. Each of her little characters is named on the reverse of the card which we think adds to their charm. We hope you love Eva, Gladys, Madeleine, Theo .... as much as we do.

East of India Gifts

We have some lovely new items to add to our East of India range this week. For example, we have beautiful ceramic hearts embossed with inpirational messages priced at £4.90, mugs at £9.90, and a stunning wooden Noahs Ark set priced at £70.00. We have also increased our East of India ribbon assortment and cushion collection. These are just a couple of ideas. We have lots to choose from, why not come and see for yourselves and if you're looking for a special gift, we are happy to gift wrap your purchase.
